Claiming land ownership is done through a process called adverse possession, or more commonly referred to as squatters rights.
First you must establish if the land is registered on unregistered, this allows you to determine the process to be used to take Possessory title. To determine if land is unregistered or registered, you must perform a land registry title register search.
