What are property documents?

What are ‘property Documents’:

Many people may loosely refer to a number of documents as property documents. These are largely the field documents of title, for example:

  • Title registers
  • Title plans
  • Historical conveyances
  • Charge documents
  • Registered leases
  • Applications for registrations

Another common term for these documents collectively is your title deeds. In modern terms, your title deeds are all filed documents other than you title register and title plan. When looking to research a property you should first obtain the title plan and title register and, for further investigation the title deeds.
