What is a Right of Way?

A right of way is a type of easement allowing one land owner to pass over another’s land. Their may be restrictions as to the type of vehicles used if any at all. A common right of way is one over a shared driveway.

To find out if you have a right of way over anothers land, or indeed another has a right of way over your land, you should obtain and check the title registers and title deeds to the relevant properties.
